School Programs

The zoo offers a living laboratory for lifelong learning at any age. Whether you are bringing a class to us for a field trip or looking to bring the zoo to you, our conservation education programs are sure to meet your academic needs as well as your group’s expectations for an engaging experience. Our programs are designed to meet Next Generation Science Standards and meet the needs of multiple age levels. Each program includes a themed lesson and an animal encounter with up to three ambassador animals. Programs are a full 30 minutes so plan on being with us for around 40 minutes (this allows 5 minutes before the program for hand sanitizing, initial instructions, and seating along with 5 minutes after the program for hand sanitizing and departure).

Group Size Information

We can accommodate up to 25 participants including teachers and chaperones. This maximum group size is for programs at your location or at the zoo. If your group is larger than 25 people, it will need to be split into separate programs. See pricing information below.

Program Pricing Information

Fees for programs at Mesker Park Zoo are $50 plus group rate admission ($30 per additional same program for groups over 25 individuals).

Fees for programs at your location are $2 per person-$100 minimum for up to 2 programs ($50 per additional same program or for 45-minute or more wait period between programs). Please note that a mileage fee will be incurred if the program location is more than 20 miles from the Zoo.

Early Childhood Programs

Mesker Park Zoo’s early childhood programs are designed to spark curiosity and foster early connections between our youngest learners and the world around them. These programs are available to daycare and preschool children on zoo grounds or at your location. Fees and booking information are the same as school programs. Each program does include an encounter with up to 2 of our ambassador animals.

Animal ABC’s: Learners will use the alphabet to learn about animals and the letters they begin with!

Wild Colors: Animals come in many colors and patterns. Learners will learn about different colors and patterns that animals might have and why they may look that way.

Wild Senses: We have five senses, but do we use them the same way that animals do? Learners will discover how some animals use some senses better than others as well as how some animals use different senses than us.

Zoo Tales: Learners will hear a story about one of our ambassador animals, participate in an activity, and meet the ambassador themselves.
