The Flame Tree (Brownea macrophylla) is a show stopper come late winter months of February and March. This small tree (20-25ft tall), native to Venezuela and Columbia, is located just before you enter the Flooded Forest in Amazonia and is not commonly found in the wild. Visitors are amazed at the large, pom pom like red-orange flowers that bloom right off the trunk and larger branches of the tree with many at eye level.
