The Community Membership Program at Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden is dedicated to making wildlife and educational experiences accessible to everyone in our community. This unique initiative is designed to enrich the lives of families participating in the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP), promoting inclusivity and ensuring that every family can enjoy the wonders of our zoo year-round.
Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden offers a membership discount for families participating in the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP).
Community Membership Program Benefits
Our Community Membership Program provides a deeply discounted Family Membership for just $5 annually to eligible SNAP recipients. For the price of a cup of coffee, families gain unlimited access to Mesker Park Zoo’s enriching environment. This membership covers two named adults and all children under 18 residing in the same household. It’s our way of extending a warm welcome to families across Southwestern Indiana, Southeastern Illinois, and Western Kentucky.
As a Community Member, you’ll enjoy a host of exclusive benefits, including:

Enrollment and Renewal
Enrolling in the Community Membership Program is simple. Visit our Membership Gate at Mesker Park Zoo any day between 9am and 4pm. Remember to bring your valid SNAP card and a matching photo ID. The primary named adult on the membership must match the name on the SNAP card and ID for verification purposes.
Renewals are equally straightforward. Starting two months before your membership expires, stop by in person with your eligible documents to continue enjoying uninterrupted zoo access and benefits.
